Weekly Pattern Review
The Weekly Pattern Review is a meta-practice — a practice about your practices. While daily exercises build awareness in the moment, the weekly review reveals the larger patterns that only become visible over time. You step back from the individual trees to see the forest: recurring emotions, repeated triggers, emerging themes, and gradual shifts. This is where transformation becomes visible. Combined with AI-assisted pattern recognition, you can spot what your own blind spots would miss.
When to use
Once a week, ideally on the same day. Sunday evenings or Saturday mornings work well. Choose a time when you have 20 uninterrupted minutes and can be reflective rather than rushed.
Step by step
Gather your journal entries from the past week. Read them slowly, as if reading someone else's journal.
Mark recurring emotions. Which feelings showed up more than once?
Mark recurring triggers. Were you activated by similar situations?
Mark recurring stories. What narratives kept appearing? ('I'm not enough,' 'People can't be trusted,' 'I have to do it all myself.')
Look for shifts. Anything different this week compared to previous weeks? New responses, new awareness?
Use the AI insights feature to surface patterns you might miss.
Ask the integration question: 'What is trying to emerge through these patterns?' Write freely for 3-5 minutes.
Set one intention for next week based on what you've seen.
Tips
Reading your own journal with fresh eyes is surprisingly powerful — you'll notice things you missed in the moment.
Look for what's absent as well as what's present. What aren't you writing about? What are you avoiding?
Don't try to fix everything at once. One clear insight per week is more than enough.
Share your weekly review with a therapist, partner, or trusted friend for additional perspective.
Track your weekly insights in a separate section of your journal — over months, they tell the story of your growth.
